“Regard man as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value. Education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures, and enable mankind to benefit therefrom.” – Bahá’u’lláh
There are many ways to learn about the Bahá’í Answers to a broad range of questions and to the difficult challenges of our day.
A Bahá’í Study Circle is a regular gathering focused on an in-depth and systematic study of the Bahá’í Writings. The purpose of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of the Holy Word, to comprehend its meanings and to find ways to apply the Word to our lives through spiritual transformation and service to humanity.
The frequency and duration of each study circle are set by the group, and a facilitator serves to maintain the focus and pace. There is plenty of discussion at these meetings and participants typically find the discussions most stimulating, rewarding and interesting. The content is designed to stimulate a personal commitment to action or service.
Currently these Study Circles use a series of Workbooks originally developed by the Bahá’ís of Columbia and now administered by the Ruhi Institute. These workbooks use an interactive, question-and-answer format that fosters a participatory learning process intended to empower each member of the group with a new capacity for individual and social action.
The first book in the series is:
Book 1 Reflections on the Life of the Spirit
Other books in the series include:
Book 2 Arising to Serve
Book 3 Teaching Children’s Classes, Grade 1
Teaching Children’s Classes, Grade 2: A branch course of Book 3
Book 4 The Twin Manifestations
Book 5 Releasing the Powers of Junior Youth (pre-publication edition)
Book 6 Teaching the Cause
Book 7 Walking Together on a Path of Service
